Meet the Team

Tom has been involved in the company since leaving school and doing his apprenticeship as a Fitter and Tuner here at W Rietveld Ltd.
Tom took over the running of the company in the late 1980’s.
When not at work Tom can be found in his shed tinkering away on various projects or pottering around on his lifestyle block.

Chris left high school and was employed by the New Zealand Electricity Department where he served an apprenticeship as a Fitter and Turner at various power generation sites up the Waitaki Valley and Manapouri.
Chris joined the family business in the mid 1980’s and his main focus is the refurbishment of our electric motors and gearboxes, as well looking after all our transport needs with the company truck. Chris also handles all the bills payable just for good measure.
When not working Chris can be found mountain biking and working on his lifestyle block.

Daniel left High School and worked for an electrical wholesaler, before moving on to Air Fluid Otago where he gained a wealth of knowledge in hydraulics and pneumatics over the years.
Daniel runs our Abbotsford yard as well as Compressed Air Systems (a division of W Rietveld Ltd) focussing on mainly new and used pneumatics, airline and oil line installations in workshops and general repairs and servicing.
In his spare time Daniel is an avid hunter and fisherman.

Adam left high school and completed an apprenticeship in Light Fabrication (Sheet Metal) at Harkess Sheetmetal. He stayed on for several years after gaining his Trade Certificate and has also worked in the scrap metal and road transport sectors before joining the company in 2014.
Adam runs the Stone St yard, focussing on buying and selling of our stock.
In his spare time Adam can usually be found under the bonnet of, or driving vintage and classic cars.

Chloe left school and completed a bakery apprenticeship at New World. Since completing her Trade Certificate she has also worked in the scrap metal industry.
Chloe joined us in 2020 to help with the administration side of the business, but due to her give anything a go nature has now become involved in all aspects of the business. She now looks after all the Trade Me and Website sales, alongside helping Adam with sales.
In her spare time Chloe can be found doing a range of activities with her young family.

Tony has worked for W Rietveld Ltd since leaving high school and would have to be classed as part of the furniture. Tony is our electronics whizz kid, and loves the challenge of making and repairing all things electronic.
Tony is also responsible for dismantling all the items coming through the doors.
Tony can often be found outside of work helping his children or working in his section.
